Leading Denver and Boston Based Firms
Host CompuLaw User Group Meetings
Law Firm-Sponsored User Groups Educate Legal Professionals
on Best Practices in Court Calendaring

LOS ANGELES August 2 , 2010 – Denver-based Sherman & Howard, LLC and Boston-based Jackson Lewis LLP recently hosted CompuLaw user group meetings to educate legal professionals on best practices in court calendaring. The events focused on risk management considerations for today’s law firms, as well as new features and benefits of both CompuLaw Vision™ Version 10 and the CompuLaw Vision Web Portal™. These meetings are part of an on-going series of educational sessions that CompuLaw has successfully presented to organizations and associations across the country.

“The participant feedback from our Denver User Group meeting was positive,” said Chris Luhiau, Docket Specialist/Senior Records Tech at Sherman & Howard, LLC.  “We discussed how important legal calendaring is to the efficient operation of the law firm, and how to fully utilize CompuLaw's risk management tools to improve case management. We were also shown some new features CompuLaw plans to introduce in the near future. All in all, the presentation was a success and we look forward to hosting our next meeting in the near future.”

Vision is CompuLaw’s trusted calendar/docket matter management software that enables attorneys to automatically schedule critical dates in accordance with court rules, greatly reducing the possibility of missing deadlines through error-prone and time-consuming manual docket calculations. Vision is a full-featured application for Windows and is available in MS SQL and SQL Express 2005 (MSDE) versions. Vision integrates with Microsoft Outlook®, Novell GroupWise®, Lotus Notes® and the CompuLaw Vision Web Portal™.

The CompuLaw Vision Web Portal provides users with around-the-clock access to their schedules and other pertinent calendaring information from any location, via their individual Web browsers.  CompuLaw Collaborate, a web part component that integrates Vision Web Portal with the Microsoft® Office SharePoint® Server, allows Web Portal’s popular Event List and How was this date calculated? sm features to be incorporated into SharePoint 2007
Web sites.

“I think it is wonderful how CompuLaw takes the time to keep its user groups involved with matters relevant to its products,” said Kara Looney, Docketing Administrator at Jackson Lewis LLP.  “CompuLaw’s participation and suggestions are truly helpful. I am most impressed with the way they listen to customer feedback and do their best to implement it into its future versions of the application. I feel that CompuLaw user group meetings are extremely effective.”

“Each user group session allows law firms the unique opportunity to share their experiences, network with other docketing professionals, and learn how to take full advantage of CompuLaw’s powerful functionalities,” said David J. Kalmick, president and CEO of CompuLaw. “In today’s economic times, with insurance rates on the rise and the number of malpractice claims skyrocketing, we are committed to improving law firm docketing efficiencies, reducing risk and protecting client interests.”

Prior user group meetings include Kilpatrick Stockton LLP (Atlanta, GA), Epstein Becker & Green, P.C. (New York), Davis Wright Tremaine LLP (Seattle, WA), DLA Piper US LLP (Chicago, IL), Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP (San Francisco, CA), Latham & Watkins LLP (Los Angeles, CA), Akin Gump Strauss Hauer and Feld LLP(Washington, D.C.), Jeffer Mangels Butler & Marmaro LLP (Century City, CA), Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear LLP (Orange County, CA) and Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch LLP (San Diego, CA).
