CompuLaw Releases Federal Trade Commission Rules

LOS ANGELES – April 16, 2009 - CompuLaw LLC, publisher of calendar/docket matter management software with built-in court rules databases, recently announced the addition of Federal Trade Commission ("FTC") deadlines to its comprehensive collection of federal rules offerings.

“CompuLaw offers the largest national court rules database available today, and our packages are designed to make tracking critical dates and deadlines simple,” said Alex Manners, Vice President of Legal Rules Products, CompuLaw, LLC. “The rule sets for formal adjudicatory proceedings before the Federal Trade Commission (“FTC”) cover the FTC Rules of Practice set forth in 16 CFR Parts 3 and 4, and include deadlines for all stages of adjudicatory proceedings, including pleadings, motions, discovery, and more.”

CompuLaw's FTC rules package allows users to select the appropriate rules for adjudicatory proceedings commenced before 1/14/09, and for actions commenced after 1/13/09.  The rules
for actions commenced after 1/13/09 are based on the recent amendments to the FTC Rules of Practice, referred to by the FTC as the Interim Final Rules. According to the FTC, the purpose of the recent amendments was to “expedite its adjudicative proceedings, improve
the quality of adjudicative decision making, and clarify the respective roles of the Administrative Law Judge…and the Commission in Part 3 proceedings.”(Fed. Register, vol.
74, 1804.)

CompuLaw offers rules databases for all 50 states, including State, Federal, Appellate, Supreme Court, Bankruptcy, Intellectual Property and more.  During 2008, CompuLaw released 346 separate rules updates (rule sets updated 3,690 times in total) as well as 91 new rule sets for numerous jurisdictions across the United States, including Illinois, Indiana, California, Florida, Kentucky, Missouri, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, North Carolina, Michigan, New Mexico, Georgia and Tennessee.  For the complete list of CompuLaw rule databases, visit www.compulaw.com.
