2010 ILTA Technology Survey Reveals
CompuLaw Vision™
42% of ILTA survey participants in firms with 700+ attorneys use CompuLaw
LOS ANGELES – December 7, 2010 - CompuLaw LLC, the publisher of calendar/docket matter management software with built-in court rules databases, today announced its top docketing software category position in ILTA’s 2010 Technology Survey. The annual technology survey included feedback from 180,000 total law firm users and revealed that over 42% of law firms with 700+ attorneys and 37% of firms with 350-699 attorneys use CompuLaw for calendaring and court rules calculations.
The 2010 ILTA Technology Survey included responses from 464 firms,
representing over 80,000 attorneys and nearly 180,000 total users. The study
measured more than 175 data points and offered trending data for many of the
questions including in the docketing category. As in previous years,
CompuLaw is the preferred docketing solution provider for not only ILTA
member firms but the entire landscape of AmLaw 100 and 200 firms. 20% of all
surveyed firms (spanning 50 to 2,000 attorneys) selected CompuLaw in 2010,
up 4% from last year’s survey results.
While CompuLaw is the rules-based calendaring provider of choice, Outlook
was second most popular followed by firms indicating they don’t have any
automated calendaring solution.
As recently reported in the Law Firm Risk Management Blog, ILTA’s annual
technology survey provides some interesting data about the trends and
decisions law firms are making when adopting software relating to risk.
Calendaring software in particular, is being increasingly utilized by firms
of varying sizes in an effort to mitigate malpractice related risks. In
addition, a number of law firm risk insurance carriers have included a
premium discount program for firms using CompuLaw for docketing and court
rules-automation. The entire Law Firm Risk Management post can be viewed
here.
CompuLaw offers rules databases for all 50 states,
including State, Federal, Appellate, Supreme Court, Bankruptcy, Intellectual
Property and more. CompuLaw’s court rules are currently used by over 82% of
the top 50 law firms in California, and have been ranked as the #1
calendaring software used by AmLaw 100 and AmLaw 200 firms.
