CompuLaw Releases Rules Database for the
California Public Utilities Commission
LOS ANGELES – May 12, 2005 -
CompuLaw LLC, publisher of calendar/docket software with built-in court
rules databases, announced today the release of a comprehensive collection
of calendaring rules for attorneys that utilize the Rules of Practice
and Procedure under the California Public Utilities Commission. The
new rules database allows attorneys to monitor their cases and keep
track of all related deadlines, such as filing and serving petitions,
applications and complaints; discovery and other documents related
to hearings; and filing notifications relating to increasing rates
or deviating from established minimum rates.
The Rules of Practice and Procedure govern administrative processes in
formal proceedings before the California Public Utilities Commission.
These proceedings include adjudicatory, rate-setting or quasi-legislative
complaints, orders to show cause, rulemakings and investigations.
“This rule set is another valuable addition to CompuLaw’s extensive
selection of calendaring databases for California, which already include rules
for superior courts, federal district courts, federal judges’ local rules,
appellate and bankruptcy,” said David J. Kalmick, president and CEO of
CompuLaw. “We also offer specialized databases for California, such as
the Office of Administrative Hearings, CEQA, Unlawful Detainment, Eminent Domain,
Workers Compensation, Family Law, Criminal Law and more. CompuLaw's calendaring
databases make tracking court rules and critical deadlines simple. We are here
to help attorneys build their practices more safely, with less risk exposure.”
CompuLaw offers rules databases for all 50 states including State, Federal,
Appellate, Supreme Court, Bankruptcy and Intellectual Property. Throughout
2004, CompuLaw released many specialized rule sets such as the Federal
Communications Commission, American Arbitration Association, UNCITRAL
Arbitration Association, U.S. Bankruptcy Courts and the New York Stock
Exchange Arbitration Rules calendaring databases. In addition, new rule
sets for numerous jurisdictions across the United States were published,
including for Alabama, Arkansas, California, District of Columbia, Georgia,
