CompuLaw Launches Certification Program for Vision™ Calendaring Software

LOS ANGELES – October 22, 2007 –CompuLaw LLC, publisher of calendar/docket software with built-in court rules databases, announced today the launch of a user certification program for its popular Vision calendar/docket and matter management software. Created in response to the needs of its customers, CompuLaw carefully designed each training session to educate legal professionals on best practices in court calendaring. The program will provide users with the tools to not only train colleagues and other staff members, but also to increase quality control when tracking rules updates and deadlines.

The CompuLaw Certification Program involves detailed instructions and overviews of Vision, intensive on-site training with a senior CompuLaw Trainer, complete verbal and written examinations, and hands-on application training - where the student is then required to “train the trainer.” After completion of the program, participants receive a CompuLaw certificate, indicating that they have demonstrated the skills necessary to facilitate internal training sessions for their firms.

With the CompuLaw Certification Program, the user’s skills and knowledge of Vision is assessed and validated through an hourly unit scale, with sixteen units required for basic certification.  Complete CompuLaw Certification is achieved with a minimum of 23 units.  Classes and seminars offered by CompuLaw cover a wide variety of topics, including: adding clients/matters, court ruled and non-court ruled events, editing/filtering/completing events, running reports, managing matters, setting up data tables, loading court rules and user defined rule sets, and CompuLaw Vision Web Portal™ maintenance.

“By completing the certification program, users will become a much more valuable calendaring resource for their firms, colleagues, and clients,” said David J. Kalmick, president and CEO of CompuLaw.  “Our new certification program provides legal professionals with a thorough overview of Vision - from main screen and operational functions to working with clients, events and appointments, and creating customized reports. This program is for users that seek to master legal calendaring in efforts to best safeguard their firms from malpractice and enhance risk management initiatives. We are excited to welcome new members into our CompuLaw community of highly skilled certified calendaring professionals.”

Vision is CompuLaw’s trusted calendar/docket and matter management software that enables attorneys to automatically schedule critical dates in accordance with court rules, greatly reducing the possibility of missing deadlines through error-prone and time-consuming manual docket calculations. A full-featured 32-bit application for Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000 and XP, Vision is also available in MS SQL and MSDE versions.  Vision integrates with Microsoft Outlook®, Novell GroupWise®, Lotus Notes™ and the CompuLaw Vision Web Portal™.
